Lamborghini Revuelto

Powertrain

The Revuelto Hybrid from Lamborghini serves to future-proof its legendary V12 engine by featuring a plug-in hybrid system which elevates performance to hypercar levels while simultaneously cutting emissions, benefiting our planet in turn. Three electric motors combined with its gas-powered 12-cylinder engine deliver 1001 horsepower; this power is then distributed through a transversal dual-clutch e-gearbox to drive its rear wheels.

Lamborghini recently unveiled their revolutionary carbon fiber mono fuselage to further decrease weight. Their new car features this carbon frame which is 10 percent lighter and 25 percent stiffer compared to that used on Aventador, in order to further lower production costs and additional weight savings.

At the center of each car is a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, recharged either through combustion engine use during motion or by plugging into a charging port in the frunk. Additionally, this powerful little unit can operate completely on electric power for short distances (Lamborghini estimates around six miles). Furthermore, Citta drive mode prioritizes keeping this charge charged up. All this combined should cause the Revuelto Hybrid to weigh approximately 550 lbs.

2024 Lamborghini Revuelto Hybrid Design

Revuelto may make headlines due to its hybrid powertrain, but its features go much further. Lamborghini engineers designed it with V12-powered predecessors in mind and created a flashy supercar that looks futuristic at first glance.

The exterior features sharp angles and an aerodynamic rocket ship-inspired rear. Scissor doors also return, along with an advanced driver assistance system containing active lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert features. Inside the Revuelto Hybrid’s spacious cockpit lies its new digital display layout; one 12.3-inch display in front of the driver, one 8.4-inch display for passengers, and another 9.1-inch one in between is featured.

Technology

The Revuelto’s powertrain may be its main draw, but that is far from being its only exciting component. Italian automaker Fiat also upped their game when it came to design language by creating something dramatic with a wedge shape and scissor doors.

Lamborghini’s Revuelto plug-in hybrid electric vehicle marks their inaugural plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and features three motors producing 1,015cv (or 1,001 horsepower). One motor is integrated into the front axle while another connects to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox located behind its internal combustion engine.

The battery pack – a 3.8-kWh unit capable of being charged fully in 30 minutes from a charging point or in just six using the engine as a generator – is housed within what would have been a car’s transmission tunnel, helping keep the center of gravity low for sharp handling and equitable weight distribution. Lamborghini has also introduced the Citta EV driving mode which runs the Revuelto exclusively on electric power for city driving.

Performance

The Revuelto’s powertrain begins with a brand-new 6.5-liter V12 that’s combined with three electric motors to generate 1,001 hp. That power is distributed across all four wheels via an innovative eight-speed dual-clutch transmission mounted transversally behind its engine rather than in front.

Motors on this vehicle are powered by a 3.8 kWh battery that’s good for approximately six miles of pure electric driving. You can charge it using both traditional domestic alternating current and charging columns; full recharge is accomplished within just 30 minutes.

Corsa drive mode offers drivers several ways to prioritize keeping their battery charged – from selecting Eco or Battery Saver modes to Track settings allowing full exploitation of electric motors. Furthermore, if they accidentally leave their car unattended there’s even a built-in tracking system designed to locate it for them if left behind – though with such a long waiting list already two years out expect Lamborghini will surely introduce similar plug-in hybrid technology when their successor to Huracan arrives in 2024.
