BMW’s most powerful car ever sold is the XM Label Red: an enormous plug-in hybrid SUV that packs 738 horsepower and boasts an estimated 30-mile electric driving range.

This special edition XM boasts red accents both inside and out to set it apart from its regular version, such as Toronto Red accents on its 20-inch wheels, while inside there is black and red contrast stitching, plus a special label identifying it as an XM Label Red model. Furthermore, BMW provides buyers access to 50 Individual paint finishes without additional fees.

As with the standard XM, this upgraded model features all-wheel drive with an estimated 0-60 time of about 3.7 seconds and the M Driver’s Package which enables a top speed of 175 mph. The BMW XM Label Red features a tuned 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gas engine and permanent hybrid electric motor that generates 738 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, according to BMW. BMW achieved the power boost through an innovative combination of tuning its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an integrated single electric motor for a peak output of 194 horsepower in electric mode and its dual-piped sports exhaust, designed by award-winning film score composer Hans Zimmer himself. BMW chose adaptive dampers found on its standard XM to harness this immense power, with steel rotors equipped with six-piston front calipers and single-piston rear units providing brakes.
